I was reminded of that moment on a recent work trip to Tokyo. I pulled out the shirt and to my delight, it was a ’90s-era Bulls tee with a huge portrait of MJ plastered across the front. I thought about all the ways to wear it: with my vintage Levi’s and Dries Van Noten Boots, tied to the side and paired with my Marine Serre slip skirt. And then it hit me again like a lightning bolt, that surge of childlike excitement. There he was again, the Mike I wanted to be like, on the other side of the world.

Then again, I never expected to weather a global pandemic in my studio apartment with a singular can of Lysol spray as my prized possession.
